Like producers of other commodities, such as beef, dairy and eggs, soybean farmers collectively invest a portion of their end-of-season profits to fund research and promotion efforts. The United Soybean Board is currently seeking a Program Manager whose responsibilities will include providing staff leadership and operational support in the area of checkoff compliance, policy and contract management and acting as a liaison to foster and facilitate communication and cooperation between the Board, USDA, the primary contractors, and USB's accounting staff. Successful candidate will have demonstrated organizational leadership in decision-making and in forging a course of action in conjunction with Board leadership, staff, and organizational goals. Candidates should possess the ability to think strategically, analyze issues, present solutions, build relationships among diverse parties, manage multiple projects/budgets/deadlines, and efficiently prioritize tasks and emerging issues. ADMINISTRATIVE/OPERATIONS (45%)

  • Staff and manage the Audit & Evaluation Program, its projects and subcontractors
  • Facilitate the USDA approval process for all USB projects and required contracts
  • Administer all contracts between USB and other entities including QSSBs and direct-managed contractors
  • Direct and supervise the Compliance Team under the leadership of the USB CEO
  • Assist the CEO and Executive Director in advising USB staff and the Board of Directors regarding policy, procedure and compliance issues
  • Assist the CEO and Executive Director in providing leadership to primary contractor staff in relation to their contract requirements, procedures and Board policy
  • Assist the CEO and Executive Director in all areas of association management, especially contract and project deliverables and tracking
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director for all project administration including direct-managed projects
  • Facilitate and manage USDA’s organic exemption programs with QSSBs

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS/BOARD & INDUSTRY MEETINGS (25%)

  • Coordinate the checkoff Partnership Workshop the See for Yourself program and others on behalf of the Audit & Evaluation Committee
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and implementation of procedures associated with USB Board Meetings
  • Identification and analysis of emerging compliance issues for the Executive Committee and Board

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS/OUTREACH (15%)

  • Communicate and foster coordination between the Board of Directors, committees, primary contractor staff and QSSBs

COMMUNICATIONS/TECHNOLOGY (15%)

  • Develop, implement and oversee USB’s electronic project management process via the contractor website

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum four years association or nonprofit experience and/or minimum of two years management experience
  • Compliance & audit experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • SharePoint experience desired
