Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a 700 cow dairy located in New York that is currently searching for an experienced Calf Manager. Responsibilities will include: Managing the dairy calf / heifer program from birth to calving; managing other employees involved with the program, including scheduling of tasks, training, and monitoring employee performance with an emphasis on labor efficiency; evaluating protocols and programs for performance; researching new ideas that can improve performance. Will work with new born care, calf feeding, vaccination programs, dehorning and de-tailing; moving, monitoring weight gains and body condition, reproduction, health care, vet checks, and hoof health.
QUALIFICATIONS: MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. Calf management experience; Well organized, able to supervise and ensure jobs are correctly done; Must be open minded; Strong organizational skills; Self starter; Strong communication skills; Must be aggressive, able to pay attention to detail, and take on responsibilities.
