Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Maui MSP organization as the Safety Lead for site operations.  This individual will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing Monsanto's ESH policies for all aspects of the Maui  Technology ESH program.

 

Responsibilities:

- Drive Maui Technology ESH program to ensure constant positive progress.

- Provide ESH support for Maui Technology Operations for timely response to environmental/safety emergencies, questions and safety training. 

- Provide support for incident investigation, JSA and other site specific ESH programs.

- Work closely with ESH generalists and Associates to coordinate all steps necessary to maintain VPP Star status.

- Coordinate preparations and present safety training meetings for all Maui technology employees and special training sessions as requested (i.e. Operations and Research meetings).

- Interface with ESH-North America and Breeding Technology teams to develop written policies, update local ESH manual and facilitate in achieving team goals.

- Facilitate preparation of environmental and regulatory permits and reports to ensure Company's freedom to operate.  Includes waste management, storm water, air permit construction and operating permits,.

- Work with site management to facilitate the implementation of Monsanto's small site Contractor/Guest program which includes coordination and conducting pre-construction meetings, work in progress (WIP) audits, and pre-start up audits.

- Responsible for implementing behavioral based safety at select sites.

- Conducts industrial hygiene monitoring and formal report writing.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

- BS in Agricultural Engineering or a discipline related to Environmental, Safety & Health

- 2+ years of experience in Environmental Safety and Health

- Knowledge of environmental permitting, safety program evaluation and/or program implementation

- Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Desired Skills/Experience:

- Experience in agricultural operations and research
