Extension & Youth Development Officer (3 year position)
Would you like to develop your career and work for a progressive beef cattle breed society? Angus Australia is looking for an outstanding person who has graduated
within the past three years, to coordinate our Angus Youth program and
assist with the research, development and delivery of innovative extension
activities. This fulltime position is based in Armidale, NSW, and would involve
occasional travel. The position will be sponsored by the MLA Graduate Program, which provides
professional development opportunities for people in their first three years of
employment in the red meat industry. This will include professional development
courses with other graduates, training and mentoring. The appointment is initially
for a 3 year period. The following skills/knowledge are essential: - Degree in Agriculture or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Affinity for working with young people
- Ability to develop and conduct training sessions
- Working knowledge of the beef industry
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Current drivers licence
The following skills/knowledge are highly desirable: - Experience in developing web based extension services.
The successful applicant will join a team of 14 staff and be required to work closely
with the Extension & Youth Manager, Angus Youth Management Committee, Youth
