There’s never been a more important time to join Syngenta. Research Technician IV – Grants Pass, OR - 1510 Role Purpose – Assist in the various research programs. Accountabilities – Perform plant breeding support duties including: planting and growing transplants, pollination, seed harvest, seed cleaning, staking, labeling, and data recording. Perform fieldwork including: layout and marking, seeding and transplanting, spraying, seed harvest and cleaning, and labeling. Coordinate, fill and ship trials to outside locations domestically and internationally. Manage and maintain accurate inventories. Involvement in all activities of the seed production and nursery. Communicate with offsite project leaders to define and schedule tasks required for their programs. Supervise temporary employees. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities – Critical knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent required. AA degree preferred. Four (4) to six (6) years comparable experience in an agriculture field preferred. Research refabricative skills Critical experience: Valid Driver's License Bilingual in English & Spanish beneficial Able to obtain Oregon Pesticide Applicators License Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities: Keyboarding and computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook) . Good organizational skills. Legible handwriting. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work independently and give direction to other employees. Ability to accurately gather and record data. Additional Information – Physical Demands Of The Essential Functions: Ability to lift 35-50 pounds. Working Conditions While Performing Essential Functions: Ability to withstand long hours of working in fields. Work may be performed under environmental conditions of extreme high or low temperatures and moisture. Exposure to high levels of potential allergens. Possible exposure to chemical treatments.
