The Seed Supply Management Trainee will learn all aspects of the Seed Production cycle from planting to harvest to packaging and distribution of the final product. The Trainee learns fundamental aspects of site operations to gain valuable process knowledge for continued skill growth and personal development.

Primary responsibilities of the Seed Supply Management Trainee include: Active participation in the Monsanto Environmental, Safety and Health Program. Learn to prepare seed field maps. Learn to direct inspection of fields for insects, isolation, stand establishment, diseases, weed problems, seed quality, genetic seed purity, yield estimates and moisture. Learn SAP software in order to enter data. Learn to direct sampling and quality testing of all seed produced and warehoused. Assist Site Manager during harvest operations to maximize quality. Perform other duties as directed by site management.

·         BS degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop Soil Science, Business, or related field of study.

·         Outstanding communications skills including the capability to clearly present information to influence or persuade others through oral or written means.

·         Demonstrated decision-making ability and problem-solving skills essential.

·         Results/detail-orientation and the ability to work with a sense of urgency. Capability to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.

·         Previous experience in agriculture or a strong desire to learn is advantageous.

·         Ability to obtain commercial driver's license (CDL) and pesticide applicators license is required.

·         Candidates who are bi-lingual in Spanish/English are highly sought.

·         Some travel required

·         Prior Seed production experience is a plus
