The User Experience and Operational Excellence Team is a part of IT's Global Systems group. The team also includes usability, front-end design, web analytics, training and support and collaborates with business and technical colleagues to develop effective user experiences.
The core responsibility of the Application Quality Assurance Coordinator role is to ensure that high quality software (all applications delivered by Global Systems) is released to production on time. Furthermore, the responsibilities of this position include following and improving the Global Systems Testing process. This process includes requirements translation into test cases, ensuring those test cases are complete and executed at the correct time, reporting results via metrics, and handing off to the Deployment and Support group. This role may grow to include overseeing a team of testers that is a combination of employees, contractors, and 3rd party resources working on multiple projects..
· Identify people, process, and technology changes to improve overall software quality, and to support business growth. Establish a common quality methodology across Global Systems' application teams. Maintain and improve quality assurance standard operating procedures, while ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
·Create and maintain project schedules to ensure all software has been tested. Determine test environment requirements. Maintain all documentation associated with testing, test cases, and defect reports.
·Provide strong QA leadership and coordinate tasks for staff and partner teams.
·Collaborate with development and business analysis teams during design and deployment.
·Implement automated testing capabilities to streamline and accelerate the development lifecycle.
Required Skills:
·BS in Computer Science or an equivalent degree
·Minimum of five years of experience in IT testing and quality assurance, test planning and execution, using automated testing tools and regression testing
·Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle
·Strong organizational, written, oral communication and problem solving skills
·Minimum of two years of experience as a Team Lead or Manager in an IT testing organization
·An understanding of when it is necessary to create automated tests
Desired Skills:
·Work and/or educational experience in an agricultural, biotechnology, or manufacturing industry
·Experience or familiarity with Worksoft Certify testing tool
·Experience with diverse testing and staffing models
·Work or educational experience in enterprise class systems is an added benefit
