ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 82 projects in 40 countries and revenues of $110 million.

Agriculture Specialist, Zimbabwe ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a senior Zimbabwean agronomist to help manage an 18-month project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that aims to support the improved production and marketing of staple crops and horticulture. Specifically, the program objectives are to facilitate access to support services so farmers can improve the volume and quality of their production; to build the marketing capacity of farmers; and to facilitate outgrower networks.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in agronomy or related subject
  • Five to ten years’ experience in providing extension services or farmer training
  • Experience designing and overseeing the delivery of agronomic extension packages
  • Program management experience in staple crop production, post-harvest handling and storage
  • Demonstrated experience building linkages and alliances between small farmers and input providers and/or other services providers
  • Experience working on USAID, World Bank or other donor-funded development programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of USAID regulations, policies and procedures
  • Relevant advanced degree
