Job Description: Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work as a member of a multidiscilinary conversion team. Primary responsibilities are to select best trait donors and inbreds to be advanced each generation, use of molecular markers to speed up conversion process, QA/QC of finished versions, tester selection for hybrid make ups, data analisys of equivalency, efficacy and registration trials, primary version selection. Incumbent will be responsible for writing submissions for regulated planting to CTNBIO and import permits and hybrid registration at AG Min. Individual will interact with the breeding, manufacturing, strategy, marketing, regulatory and breeding technology organizations. Incumbent will oversee the administration of a research program, including the recruiting, training, developement and retention of personnel, budget management, and care and maintenance of company assets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Required Skills: PhD in Plant Breeding, Plant Genetics or related. Individual should have a strong background in plant breeding, genetics, statistics, and molecular marker applications. Experience in seed industry and with biotech traits are highly desirable. Proficiency with software applications are critical. Individual must be results oriented, innovative, and have proven leadership and organizational ability. Individual must have demonstrated ability to write and speak English fluently, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
