Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced weed management specialist with leadership skills to lead a cross-functional team within our Trait Development Platform. This person will work in a multi-disciplinary team aimed at developing new products through transgenic approach. The candidate will be responsible for supporting a long term global strategy to develop new solutions for testing new and emerging herbicide tolerance crops. The candidate will also be responsible for engaging team members and working across Monsanto's wide range of functional teams to enhance our weed management efforts.

Required Skills:
Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in weed management or other related field, with postdoctoral/industry experience in both lab and field, including an understanding of transgenic approaches for weed management. A solid understanding of herbicide physicochemical properties, spray technology, plant biology, physiology, ecology, genetics, molecular biology and statistics is required. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Portuguese and English. The candidate must be highly motivated and results-oriented, must question the status quo appropriately and have demonstrated the ability to work in a cross functional work culture.
Additional experience with crop species is valuable to meet the expected challenges of this position. Excellent organizational skills are required. Additional experience working in best agronomical practices and regulated trials, alongside field management of transgenic crops are a plus.
