Job Description: Assist in coordinating the Corn Projects, where, how, and when they'll plant the seeds. Accountable for the work in each of the Corn Projects, and responsible for training the personnel necessary for the Project. Assist in standardizing the work in all projects, assure that they are done uniformly. Prepares weekly report for the Corn Coordinator of the corn rows planted. Responsible in coordination with the Ops Coordinator for the use of herbicides, fungicides and pesticides to control undesirable pests. Ensure that it??s done properly. Assists all the procedures and documentation related to the planting, harvest and destruction of conventional and transgenic materials ( if applicable ). Supervise and provide guidance to her/his part time employees in a respectful manner. Accountable for the employee attendance of his/her area. Meets with the Corn Coordinator to provide accurate information on corn rows planted, problems and action taken. Follows procedures for improvements in product quality. Make safety inspections of Monsanto??s equipment and facilities. Provide training on Occupational Safety and Health topics to his/her employees. Facilitate to his/her employees the Personal Protection Equipment required for the job and explain them how to use it. Ensure that his/her employees follow the Occupational Safety and Health Work Rules and assure that they use the Personal Protection Equipment required.
Required Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture and Science or other related area. 3+ years of experience in agricultural reserach and/or crop production. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook specificaly). Both oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish is desireable.
